Eloise O'Reilly
I am a Counselling Psychologist and founder of Awakenings Psychology.
I am offering telehealth appointments and have some capacity to
offer face to face appointments.
I am passionate about embracing and nurturing my clients'
humanness. With warmth and curiosity, along with 10 years of experience, I provide
deep witnessing and understanding of the scope of human struggle. I respond to this
with anchoring and compassionate support, rather than pathologising.
My approach is holistic and relational. I work with people who are wanting to realise their
authentic self, to show up for themselves in a more resourced way, to shape their future with agency rather than be
dictated by the past, and to embrace a more spacious, creative, and enjoyable way of living.
I journey longer-term with clients and can help with:
- High Sensitivity (HSP - cultivating a life which embraces the unique strengths and gifts that come with the trait of high sensitivity)
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Grief and loss
- Stress
- Abuse
- Life adjustment
- Interpersonal struggles
- Trauma (informed by Internal Family Systems therapy and by Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing - EMDR - see FAQs for further information)
- Our relationship with ourselves (our sense of self, identity and self-esteem, self affirmation)
When I'm not working, I love seeing live music, practising yoga, discovering new books or getting competitive at pub trivia.
I hold my Masters in Applied Psychology (Counselling) from the University of Queensland and registration as a Counselling Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
Awakenings Psychology is an LGBTQIA+ friendly practice.
